Chair makeovers are complete!!

Wednesday, August 24, 2011

I am so excited to not only put this project behind me (click here to see why), but because I am finally happy with the outcome...

Before

After
I am not sure where these chairs will stay because they actually work in multiple rooms, unlike the first 3 attempts...For now I have one in the living room and one in the Master bedroom.  I am just happy they are finally out of the garage and that my favorite fabric is put to good use :-))

The final product of these chairs was actually so easy and took very little time.  I just used Ace Premium Primer spray paint in Red Oxide and finished it with a coat of Ace Clear Cote Gloss spray paint.  When spray painting I normally use a primer and follow with the color I want, but in this case the only color I could find that I wanted was in the primer.  This turned out just as I wanted though.  For the seat I just unscrewed the old seat, vacuumed it off and stapled my new fabric on :-)  How much easier could it be.  Now if only I started out on the easy road the first time...

I'm linking up to these parties...

Looks great...I have a couple of little fabric foot stools awaiting a little re-do in the garage. You make it sound so easy...may have to go for it :) Thanks for the visit! Laurel@chippingwithcharm

I LOVE that chair! I really like that fabric and that red is my favorite, showing up in many rooms of my home. I'll have to go find that primer color.

Great job, I love that fabric and bought a whole bunch of it, but haven't put it to use yet. My desk chair is waiting to be refurbished. I think this might be what I cover it with. I'd love for you to stop by and link up to my Share the Wealth Wednesday Link Party at www.laughloveandcraft.com. I'm your newest follower.

Cute cute cute! I love that you went bold with them, I'm currently redoing a couple of chairs that have a similar backing and I'm keeping them neutral because I'm too chicken. Lol. I'm curious, is the wood and wicker part in the middle of the back real or fake? Mine is fake which is why I ask. :)

Sarah - the wood/wicher part in the middle is not real wood. I was worried about how they would hold the paint and it was no problem at all. If I would have sprayed them with regular spray paint, without a primer, then it wouldn't have worked. I find that no matter what the material, as long as I use a primer first, I have no issues.
